OK, here's a question to all of you out there. What would be the best thing to use for a net handle that could be maybe 18 feet long, light weight, but still maintain it's ridigity to withstand the rigors of dipping shrimp.
I took my standard hoop net and added an 8 foot piece of electrical 1" emt that slipped very nicely onto the handle. I then used bolts and wingnuts. It held up fine when dipping from the New Smyrna Pier, but as strong as I am, it whipped my butt. My dad suggested I look into bamboo.
What do you guys think?
