I agree with AnglerM allot.

I will add if you are land locked without a boat but have good reliable car or truck S- inlet is the place to get your snook hands down. when I was younger I almost lived down there during prime season and caught thousands of snook. Normally it is a night time thing but Snook can be caught there in the moring and evening or during the day if the water is a little dirty. My bait of choice there is 1.5 oz hair jigs or grub tailed jigs. You can cover allot of water and in little time with these things. The inlet eats allot of jigs in one night so bring about a dozen for one night, I pour my own heads and make my own jigs to keep the cost down. Live bait is very efective anywhere when fishing for snook, pig fish, mullet, large shrimp are all good but a live croaker is best. Shallow diving plugs are another good bet but can get costly and dangours and I dont like to throw them during closed season..

Snook are mostly caught around structure and are ambush feeders. They almost always are around something other then flat bottom when feeding. They love rocks and there turned down nose lets them hug bottom in fast currents to take advatage of bait going over the top of them.

Around inlets outgoing tides are almost alway best. They seem to feed hard the first and last hr of the tides. At the port there are many Snook but a rising tides seem to be better there as there is little current.

Last I have caught lots of big snook in the surf around Canaverals cape pojnt or bite but you need a boat for that. Lots of the biggest Snook live in the ocean but come into the inlets to feed and spawn around good moon cycles and certain times of the year.

Good luck and be carfull when you catch one, there gills will lay you open big time. Always use a 50 pd mono leader or larger when going for snook. A good snook will chew threw lighter line fast with there head shakes and jumps.
