Now that we have finally come down from our post February Mini-Seminar high, it's time to start some long range planning for our next event. Last year we held what we called our "Tent City" which was a wrap up to the end of our winter shrimping season. We held it in June 5th because we were trying to hold off until the end of the shrimp run. Unfortunately we missed out on some of our snowbirds being able to attend since they had to go north prior to our gathering. This year we will hold it on Saturday April 30, 2011 at Bethune Beach. Last year trophies were awarded to everyone that had a 5 gallon limit. You can see a picture of the table full of trophies on the main page of this website at the top.
Since we have so many new members, we would like to know what the members would like to have as their reward.
Do we want to keep the trophies?
Do we want some kind of gear that would be customized to denote the accomplishment?
We think the budget would be 5-10 dollars per award, but this is just an estimate.
The actual details of the entire day will be posted at a later date, but it will follow similar formats to our other seminars. We'll all bring food, chairs and as many pop up tents as possible. Captain Leo Hiles will speak. I'll teach castnet throwing and how to tape a net that does not have sewn in webbing. We'll hold raffles for various merchandise. Awards will be given for 5 gallon limits. ETC...........................................
Please respond to the above questions so we'll have plenty of time to prepare.
Thanks,
Specialist
