Posts: 7778 08/21/10 11:30 AM Captain USCG Licensed NEW SMYRNA DELTONA	Welcome Lightweight. If your wanting to saltwater shrimp [the way to go], you do NOT need to bait the shrimp. They are running down the intercoastal way on their way to the inlet using the tide to propel them. We have 18 types of shrimp in the lagoon system. In the summer time, we chase the day time white shrimp in S. Daytona tossing a cast net, and in the winter/spring [Oct-June] we dip them at night in Oak Hill and Edgewater. Some dip off the piers in New Smyrna Beach. The freshwater folks salt their favorite holes to jack up the salinity to attract shrimp, but in saltwater they are moving as troops/pods toward the inlet. Where do you want to shrimp? Are you a boater? DO you want to cast net or dip? Where ya from in Fla? Were gonna make you a heavyweight shrimper! Most importantly, welcome!
