Helped Lil Miss Shrimper get the boat in the water yesterday and put a pigfish trap out on her dock and took her a castnet gift from Cap'n Frank. Gonna ck and see if any bait liked the crab cleaning yuck and shrimp cleanings I broadcast chummed the area and loaded the trap with some so gonna go. Taking me some mullett and shrimp to the bridge and going Mango (or whatever) hunting. SaltyK I promise not to pick on your toadfish family! Later then..... Gone! Hey Miss Glenda, I would be interested in seeing what you catch. I have been back to both bridges almost on a daily basis learning the nuances. As a result, I have lost a few to break-offs since I fish right next to the abutments and pylons. If you catch anything with a bit of braid hanging out of it's mouth, please let me know. In the meantime, I have had a friendly chat with this guy yesterday at the N. bridge and told him you are coming and to say 'hello'..! << There Is a Reason >>

Posts: 1043 08/18/10 08:38 AM - 4 Limits 2011	The tide was due to turn shortly after 3:30pm so about 1:45 I headed north. Stopped in EW and checked the pigfish trap and wow about a dozen nice pigfish in it. Left them soaking for a wk-end tourney, and went up to see Deb. She was cleaning the kitchen, but it didn't take long to convince her an out of house experience would be just the thing. We stopped by county tag office and renewed licenses, and got to the pier just after three. There were a couple guys there with crab traps tied off in the shallower water, so we had the pier to ourselves. The water was still blue with a stiff Easterly wind the current was still pushing in pretty hard. We couldn't have bought a strike for love or money. I was hoping to catch slack and first of the outgoing, alas the wind was really pushing that tide and it was still ripping pretty good when we left at four. Another angler had joined us about 3:30 and he had no nibbles either, but he fishes there often he said and it has been slow. He said next month the flatties will appear up near there and it will be hopping. A friend of Debs called and she said hey there is BEER ON ICE! in EW. There was a short conversation about no strikes, hot sun, uncooperative tidal timing, and how thirsty we suddenly were! We packed it in and noticed the other angler was doing the same. I asked him "you giving up too?" Deb chuckled and said "Yeah he said that talk about beer sounded better than fishing with no catching!" Wish there was some fish tales to share, but it was still a nice get out and a new area, experience for Deb and I both. I'll try it again at a more opportune convergence of tides and light. Perhaps I will be able to report then instead of "CHATTER" Thanks for all the well wishes and high expectations. I'd say it was still worth the trip! I been so wrapped up in projects at home & website updates, I have not gone out fishing x3 this summer. The heat kinda wrecks it for me...but come labor day thru mid Oct, I get the redzilla fever at the bridges. A great day with friends, no pressure, no chaos sounds like a slice of heaven to me! When your not on the road busting your trucking and missing out on some fish runs I want nothing more than you surrounded by a whole pie [not slices] of heaven.
