Most people do NOT know that mullet is FWC regulated. 50 aggregate per harvester per day Vessel Limits: Feb 1 to Aug 31 = 100 mullet per day Sept 1 - Jan 31 = 50 mullet per day. Then that brings up another question. While I was flounder fishing off the river park here in NSB, an older gentleman sauntered up and we started chatting. In the conversation about fishing I mentioned to him that there are usually a lot of bait fish in the canal (where I was fishing) but today there is almost none. He said there is a guy that pulls a net up and down the canal and cleans out all the bait. Is this legal? << There Is a Reason >>

Posts: 7778 08/16/10 05:04 PM Captain USCG Licensed NEW SMYRNA DELTONA	Probably a seine net of sorts, and if the guy is commercial he can do it....we see the bait guys out hunting mullet, pigs, pins, and minnows. The good news is the fall bait will be coming in [black back/silver finger mullet as I call them] and that kicks off Fall fishing for me...couple years ago, there was a pic of these mullet coming thru Ponce inlet, it was so thick it was carpet like!
