I hope 'The People' who are making the decisions see this video....
http://forums.floridasportsman.com/forum/east-central-fishing-reports/aint-no-snook-sebastian-82 AMAZING SNOOK ACTION, JEWFISH, FLOUNDER, MANGOS, ETC. Video shot off the North Jetty at Sebastian Inlet just last week. Also to note, this member [Triplehelix] is Matt Badalato who also writes a fish report twice a week for the Florida Today Newspaper. Amazing video!!!!!!!! |

That's unfortunate that they decided to close it another 15 days, snook is one of my favorite fish to catch and eat. I don't think our area quite stacks up with sebastian, with the population size we had the freeze impacted our area quite a bit. Depite the fact that I love to catch and eat snook, I would support an even further extended closure in our area if FWC deems its necessary, clearly A LOT OF SNOOK DIED DURING THE FREEZE. That said if they open it up its fair game and you better believe I'll be out there looking for a slot size fish. But I enjoy catching them more than eating them.An extra 2 weeks is not that big of a deal, closing another season of snook fishing is. If they are considering doing another closure like that, they should do it regionally based on population loss in specific areas. Sebastian had a lot more snook to begin with than the NSB/Daytona area.
