It is still way early in the season, there has been some reporting....the cast netting has yielded a few per throw but the shrimp are full of roe...we will see more reports as the season gets going. We are all wondering if the white shrimp run is going to be late too since everything else is.

We are GOING to change your life as you know shrimping! I am also from Deltona, as are several.

Ron O'brien also is in Deltona, he is our local go to net man, who fixes and replaces the shrimp socks [he makes them]. He can also install a fence around the inside of your hoop to catch the rimmers [ShrimpZilla's] that are large enough to power themselves out of capture [6" and up].

You will need a frame net down the road [Ron O'Brien Makes them] We call them CFN, cuz they collapse and store/transport real nice]. You will be able to access the equipment forums at the bottom of the main menu, plenty of reading fer' ya.

You will need good lights that will sit on the bottom and backlight the water bugs. Again, plenty of reading.

As for locations, we the members will put you on the shrimp, and we all post our reports to help others plan trips to reduce the waste of time & gas skunks.

Some folks struggle with how to rig their weights on their lights, I make pour the 8lb pyramids for the lights, our member, NiteOwl makes the LED lights we sink, and I can teach you how to make your rigging [since I am local to you in Deltona].

I am a dipper from Dec - April, and folks right now are cast netting white shrimp in Daytona [Day time specie]. There is a lot of info in the forums, cruise the menu and take it all in over the summer. I award trophies for those that get 5 gallons, honor system reporting.
