I just heard a report that they really are expecting the oil to somehow magically miss the upper and middle guld coast of Florida. Don't know how that is possible, but fingers are crossed.


The only concern I have is if a storm pushes the slick to the coast.

I will be heading to Keaton Beach in the gulf for another scalloping adventure Weds Aug 4th & 5th. My boat is full, I am taking SwampAngel, DragonFly and Austin back out because we kinda got robbed at Steinhatchee June 28-29th due to Tropical Storm Alex squalls and the fact I do not mess with lightening.

We are staying at the Keaton Marina at their motel [$69 plus 10% tax], they give you a free boat slip. You rent a cottage for $99 + 10% tax but you have a min of 2 night stay and also get a free boat slip. We chose Weds-Thurs so we could get a room, weekends are zoo, and the ramps tend to be a single ramp with a lot of ppl dropping and folks pulling out.
